BE A PART OF THE BIGGEST DAY IN SPLIT

On May 7 Split traditionally celebrates its patron saint - Saint Domnio (also known as Saint Dujam or Saint Duje) - the “protector of the city” with big procession around the old town, locally known as Sudamja. He was a 3rd-century Bishop of Salona and patron of the city of Split. Salona was a large Roman city serving as capital of the Province of Dalmatia. Today it is located near the city of Split in modern Croatia. Saint Domnius was martyred with seven other Christians in the persecutions of the Emperor Diocletian. Beside procession and the Holy Mass, during the week around Sudamja numerous other events will take place in Split, from sports, to dance, to folklore and pop concerts.
